The Contracts Manager Role:

This role is responsible for leading all aspects of procurement contract management for our Tower 2 (Sterile Intervention & Consumable Products) supporting contract negotiations and ensuring performance delivery whilst driving value for money across multiple contracts

Reporting to the Tower Director, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of category savings through high level negotiations to secure the most advantageous arrangements for our NHS Trust customers, and ensure that your category tower meets and exceeds their yearly savings targets.

This will include:

+ Managing complex multi-million pound bids on behalf of the tower, advising on risk and ensuring the Tower adheres to contracting regulations & responsibilities
+ Ensure a partnership approach with key customers in the NHS Supply Chain such as SCCL and the NHS Trust customers, building and managing excellent relationships with suppliers to maximise savings and leverage
+ Lead, manage and inspire a small but talented procurement contract team with responsibility for areas such as recruitment, health and safety and team wellbeing.
+ Support the National Category Manager both strategically and operationally contributing to the development of sourcing strategies and leading all contracting activities, providing commercial insight and legal expertise
+ Produce robust tendering documentation, templates, reports and supporting information

Who you are:

+ You will have at least 5 years’ experience of negotiation, development, monitoring and management of contracts with significant financial value £m at a senior level in a supply chain environment
+ An expert at completing OJEU procurements from initiation of PID through to contract award, you will have experience in the public sector, ideally gained within the NHS/healthcare environment, within a complex multi-layered organisation
+ You will be able to demonstrate significant experience of achieving savings targets whilst delivering best value for the customer
+ You are a natural leader, line-manager experience and mentor

+ You are results and detail focused, responding naturally to pressure and demanding deadlines
+ You have exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability to maintain an extensive network of contacts
+ Have highly developed numerical and analytical skills with strong Excel knowledge
+ Be confident and articulate with an engaging manner and great energy, comfortable with delivering complex reports to senior management and stakeholders
+ Already a car driver and willing to travel to other customer and supplier sites

The Rewards:

+ Salary £41,500-£48,000 dependent on experience
